The last week of school
was very busy! The junior high students had their last exam on Monday and then
went to Mrs. King’s cabin for a field trip. Thank you to Mrs. King, Mr. King,
Mr. Drew Nadon, Mr. Hancock and Mrs. McCarthy for making it such a great day!
On Monday Mrs. Foley and
Mrs. McCarthy hosted the annual elementary school spelling bee. The whole
school wore black and yellow to support our spellers. The winner in grade four
was Amna Ahmad, in grade five it was Samuel Michael and in grade six the winner
was William Bruce-Robertson.
On Tuesday we had our
sports day, little green thumbs celebration and end of year variety show. The
junior high class and Mrs. McCarthy organized a lot of fun activities for all
the students to do outside. The little
green thumbs celebration included a salad, cake and milk for the entire school.
We enjoyed our treats in the greenhouse and outdoor classroom.
School officially closed
on Wednesday at lunch time. In the morning we had our end of school Mass with
Father Hynes and then our end of year awards assembly and photo slideshow.
Last week we thanked our
volunteers for helping our school yard lawn and garden. We would also like to
thank Norm Hindy for his help as well.
On Thursday we hosted
our end of year volunteer breakfast. Thank you to everyone who donated their
time and talents to our school this year!
Also, in our science
fair winners list Ryan Murphy won a medal for his science fair project.
We are still accepting
registrations for junior kindergarten and our full day kindergarten and English
and French Immersion for September 2014. In addition, we are offering a grade 7
late French Immersion program in September. Please call the school for more
information.
Congratulations to Gina
Spencer and Juan Ramirez who were regional winners in the YMCA Create a Logo

provincial winner in the Market Your Thoughts business essay.
