Our Art Exhibition was a great success. There was a great variety of art from or very talented artists. Thank you to all students, families and staff for making this show a success. Thank you to grade 7 student Anri Vermooten for taking photographs during the show. The grade 5 and class won a pool rental for their perfect attendance at the art show. On Wednesday they enjoyed a morning of swimming at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College pool. Thank you to Mrs. Reynolds and Mrs. du Toit for driving us to the pool.
Last week students donated artwork for the Relay for Life annual banquet. We sent many beautiful butterflies and rainbows to decorate the walls.
This week our school raised money for the Janeway Children’s Foundation. Thanks to our families and staff we raised $466.36!
From Tuesday to Thursday the grade 3 and 6 students wrote their math CRTs. They are now finished language and math CRTs.
Today is casual day. Each student and teacher brought in $1 in aid of Cirque du Coeur (Circus of the Heart). This afternoon we will be participating in circus style gym activities.
Our track and field meet is today. Top finishing runners will be invited to Mount Pearl for another track meet on June 20th.
The annual junior high retreat is today from 3 to 9 pm. The prayer group would like to wish Mrs. Coleman a happy birthday this week.
Stars of the Week
Congratulations to Faith Yates who won the 12-15 year old Junior Sport Female category in Cycle Solutions Mudslide race over the weekend.
Also, Noah Hynes, Tarik and Kaden Rodrigues all participated in a fun run over the weekend. Noah placed 3rd and Tarik placed 4th.
Congratulations to Keely Brothers who won a silver medal as part of a team last weekend for the Saltos Gymnastics Club at the Spring Provincials in Corner Brook.

The kindergarten class is getting ready for their graduation next week. They are writing stories in language arts.
The grade one class is learning about plants and animals in science and how to meet their needs. They are also starting to secret Father’s Day activities.
The grade two class is working on geometry in math. They really enjoy art and gym class. They enjoyed the art show and are looking forward to summer break.
The grade three and four class is learning about government in social studies ad re looking forward to the track and field meet today. Their class pet Nibbles got a new addition to her cage. It is a new home and tunnel system.
The grade five and six class had a great time swimming on Wednesday. They were very busy this week preparing he opening act for Cirque du Coeur this afternoon. They are also preparing for the end of year spelling bee.
The junior high class is studying really hard for exams and are excited for their retreat this evening. They are busy organizing the end of year assembly and slideshow.
