Welcome back to school everyone!  We welcome some new teachers like Ms. Dwyer in Kindergarten English, Mlle Wight in Kindergarten French Immersion, Mme. Perez-Diaz in grade one French Immersion, Mr. Spencer who teaches science and Mr. Gillard our new gym teacher. Mr. Davis also started as our new maintenance person this week. We wish Mr. Kennedy a happy retirement!
This year we have our first international student. Welcome to Melissa Castillio who is doing level 1.

We also have a new swing set on the front playground and an outdoor classroom in the backyard.  We hope to get some more playground things soon. The junior kindergartens also have lots of new play things in their playground.

Our new learning resource centre will be opening soon. Our library automation started over the summer. Thank you to the students who came in and helped during summer vacation including Hannah and Bridgett Sparkes, Sarah and Nicole Keeping, Claire and Maria Reynolds, and MacKenzie Brothers.

On Monday we had a 12th Birthday celebration and everyone dressed up for a 12 theme day. Also, the after school program started on Monday.
Stars of the Week

Congratulations to our school on getting a TD Friends of the Environment Foundation grant for our outdoor classroom project. We were given $2,500 for our green projects. Thank you to Mrs. McCarthy and Mme. Noseworthy who worked on the grant proposal. In the next few weeks we will be planting trees around our outdoor classroom.

Congratulations to Mme. Noseworthy on her new baby granddaughter.

Congratulations to Abigail Companion on her trip to Washington, D.C. for the People to People Leadership Conference.
