This week was foster Family Week.
On Thursday the student council hosted a pajama day and slumber party in the gym. Students in grades 2-10 watched a movie in the gym and the k and grade 1 classes watched movies together. Each student donated $2 for the Janeway Telethon.
Please remember we are still recycling cell phones. Last week we hosted the launch of the Recycle my Cell Campagin. Maria Reynolds and Hajra Ahmad prepared an awesome video for the launch. Douglas MacKenzie was the emcee and the grade 3 and 4 choir performed two songs about recycling. Also, Mme LaChance’s grade 2 and 3 class and Mrs. Foley’s grade 3 and 4 class made special collection boxes. On the very first day we collected 225 cell phones. The campaign ends on November 22 . We are asking students to collect as many cell phones as they can!
Last week we also hosted our school book fair. We raised a big total of $3,112.15. We had some prize winners for the jelly bean counting contest. They were Emily Hindy, Hailey Batt, and Heather Cooper who won posters. Students who guessed the closest number of pages in a pile of books was Reyd Ward, Grace Brake Higgins and Charlise Simmons.
At the Stephenville Regional Cross Country Running event we had nine runners. Everyone did an awesome job. Our runners were Clare Coleman, Heather Cooper, Jack Matthews, Lucas Neville, Aria Kazerouni, Ryan Murphy, Jack Ryan, Clara Ryan and Chloe Colbourne.
Our ITV school reporters this week were Clare Coleman, Makenzy Bishop, Sara Ismail and Ryan Bennett.
