Kindergarten English and French Immersion orientation session at the hospital last week.

This week was very exciting at IHMS.

A member of the community anonymously donated $5,000 to our community playground project. We now have $12,500. Everyday we get closer to playing on swings and sliding down slides! The same donor also donated the money needed to purchase a SMARTboard for the grade 3 and 4 class. Everyone is very excited. Thank you for your generosity.

This week we also found out we were the Western Region winners in the MMSB cell phone recycling campaign. We won $1,000 for our outdoor classroom. Also we found out we were the national winners for recycling 450 cell phones. We won an extra $500 and several prizes, including a cell phone. Thank you to all the families and community groups who helped us collect so many phones!

On Monday the public health nurse did a session with the grade 3 and 4 class on hygiene.

Our Family Fun Day event planning is going well. We have lots of fun activities and games planned.

The girl’s basketball team had a game at St. Gerard’s on Wednesday. They did great.
